'This is just code for "we will guilt you"': 20+ Red flags people spotted in their work places

Don't work at these places. They're already showing signs that they're not the best jobs to be employed at!

Every job has its pros and cons, and it can take a while to figure out what those are for your industry. For example, I've learned that high turnover is a sign of a poor company. That also goes for places that rely heavily on intern input to come up with ideas… all while not paying said interns.

These folks below delivered their own answers to u/Aviliuss's question: "What are some workplace red flags that scream 'don't work here'?" Some people noted that when they visited the office, the tone of the whole place was morose, almost as if everyone was at a funeral.

Another person wrote that there are sometimes businesses divided into factions of the older employees who have been there for ages, and the new hires who come and go. That dynamic is particularly insidious, because it prevents new hires from learning from more experienced workers. The experienced workers won't want to put in the effort---after all, why would they waste their time training an employee who will be out the door in a few months?
